Directions and parking

Directions by car

Coming from the A40 in the direction of Essen, please take the exit “Bochum-Wattenscheid”. Continue straight ahead into “Bußmannsweg”. At the next traffic light turn left into “Westenfelder Straße” and then take the next right into “Otto-Brenner-Straße”. At the junction “Voedestraße” continue straight ahead onto “Parkstraße”. After 450 m you will find the Freilichtbühne on the right side. 

Coming from the A40 in the direction of Dortmund, please take the exit “Bochum-Wattenscheid” Turn left into “Fritz-Reuter-Str.”. At the next junction turn left into “Bahnhofstr.”. You now pass under the motorway. Now turn right into “Bußmannsweg”. At the next traffic light turn left into “Westenfelder Straße” and then take the next right into “Otto-Brenner-Straße”. At the junction “Voedestraße” continue straight ahead onto “Parkstraße”. After 450 m you will find the open-air theatre on the right side. 

Parking

A public carpark is located right next to the entrance to the Freilichtbühne Wattenscheid (approx. 50 m, on the right side). You will find further parking spaces on Parkstraße itself and in the adjacent side streets.

Accessibility

Our venues are barrier-free. Both the sanitary facilities and all entrances and levels are wheelchair accessible. There is also sufficient parking space available in the immediate vicinity of the entrances.

Tram

From Bochum main station, take tram line 302 in the direction of “Gelsenkirchen Buer Rathaus”. After about 17 minutes’ journey you reach the destination stop “Wattenscheid Post”. From the stop, first turn right into Swidbertstraße, which becomes Parkstraße at the Voedestraße junction. After about 8 minutes' walk you will find the Freilichtbühne on the right side.
